Greet the recipient suitably

If you had recently met or communicated with the recipient over the phone then you can also add “It was nice talking to you over the phone.” Be more specific if possible like “I am excited to know that you are interested in….” or “I would have love to talk in detail over …. Don’t sound too formal
Formality forms the base of business mails. However, it is not a good idea to be overtly formal with a client or partners whom you are well familiar with. Ensure that they should be addressed the way you address them in person. Respected Sir or Mr. Peterson would sound awkward if you address the person as Peter while communicating over phone or in the person. The formal aspect of your email should be in line with the relationship or proximity you share with the person in the real life.

Always proofread your mail
